Monday the 12th.  We’re going to be closed today.  True story.

Mental health is beyond important any day of the year.  And to be frank with you all, we are tired down here.  Most of us are working 6 days a week while some are working 7.  It’s life on earth in the fall of 2020.  And my first priority will always be the health and safety of the great humans that work here. And I need to take care of them today.

They need a day off.  A day without phone calls, without dishes, without vacuuming and wiping down tables.  They need a day for themselves.  Maybe it’s a day for laundry, or a day for cleaning.  A day for playing Animal Crossing (I’m looking at you Kat and Vince), or a day for napping.  Whatever they choose to do today, they have earned it and more.  So I gave it to them because taking care of people is one of the many things that we do down here.  It’s not just making sandwiches, it’s trying to make people better. 

So I love you all, but today we are shut down for a staff mental health day.  I hope you understand and this doesn't mess up your day too much.  If it does I am sorry, it was not done intentionally to make your day challenging.  It was done to make the team here relax for a day.
