Day four to the teen.

Reminder today and tomorrow we have roasted red pepper and gouda cheese soup.  While supplies last, not available for online ordering.  But it’s okay, you can call us and order over this thing called a telephone.  I promise Brandy won’t answer the phone and yell, she is very polite.

It’s different without the deli being open all day long and sports in place.  The fall is the time of the year where Kat and Elmo tend to get a bit grayer in the hair with how busy we are.  Home football we tend to feed about 2,000 people up at the stadium, and it takes us a week to prepare for that.  And now we are feeding around 100-125 people a day here at the deli if we’re busy.  So the speed difference and tempo is bizarre for us to get behind.  It’s fun in a love to be super busy kind of way.

And Kat’s a champ at running everything in the fall.  From staffing and training.  Preparation and vision of how the day needs to go.  Giving and giving and giving.  And she tries to take things off my plate so I can not work 18 hours everyday.  Meanwhile I’m trying to take things off her plate so she doesn’t work 18 hours everyday.  We’re funny that way.  Anyway, Kat..you’re awesome.  Simply the best.

And now the semester is on the downhill part of time.  What a bizarre world.  But while I’m thinking about CMU, the students have in my opinion done a remarkable job.  Was a bit rough around the edges to the start of the semester, but they turned it around like a champ.  They wear their masks, social distance better, rock the zoom online option.  I’m proud of them.  And we will miss you when you go home at the end of the semester.

Today’s quote comes from my friend Trent.

All the jagged edges disappear

Colors all look brighter when you’re near
