Summer Concert Series

Welcome to the

2019 Summer Concert Series!

6:00pm:  DJ Pickle will open the show with what promises to be an incredible dance party.

7:00pm:  Having earned national recognition, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers return to Mt. Pleasant to kick off our 2019 season.  From performing at Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, and a headlining gig at Red Rocks in Colorado, these CMU Alumni want to ensure that the crowd has a good time.  According to Joe, they have used piñatas, confetti, fog, flowers, drum solos, strobe lights, Thor, and swords.  Literally, anything goes.

6:00pm:  Danny McQuarters, a Max & Emily’s team member, will get the evening started on just the right note.

7:00pm:  Making his Summer Series debut, Michigan’s own Joshua Davis will be familiar to the audience as a Top 3 Finalist on the hit NBC show The Voice in 2015.  Performing with Sheryl Crow and Adam Levine on the show, as well as working with American folk icons Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seeger, Josh has performed with some incredibly talented and well-known artists.  His latest album, The Way Back Home, is an honest reflection of a hard working family man describing life through times of darkness, hopefulness, and triumph.

THURSDAY, August 8

6:00pm:  Mio Bishoff of Midland returns this year to kick off the show.

7:00pm:  Also new to our stage this year is classic rock artist, Willie Nile.  Willie has performed with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and has toured with The Who. His talents have been praised by the likes of Bono, Lou Reed, and many others, Willie will no doubt leave a lasting impression.  In July of 2018, he released his 12th album, Children of Paradise.

6:00pm:  Opening artist to be announced.

7:00pm:  What would a Summer Concert Series be without our friend Brian Vander Ark.  Whether he’s performing solo, with friends, or leading The Verve Pipe, Brian’s concerts are requested every year.  Brian will be bringing along a few of his friends, family, and bandmates to perform with him in a variety of group settings.  Be sure to watch for fan favorites, “The Freshman” and “Colorful.”

6:00pm:  Popular CMU professors and part-time rock and roll band, Daryl and the Beans, kick off the evening.

700pm:  The Summer Series will conclude with CMU’s very own The Paddlebots.  After an incredibly memorable evening last summer, we could not miss an opportunity to have them back.  Performing with the passion and talent of a band well into their prime, The Paddlebots capture the audience from their opening number. With a blend of Soul, Pop, and a little bit of Funk, they will be sure to send us off on a high note.

We are thankful to Max & Emily’s, Isabella Bank, Downtown Mt. Pleasant, and Central Michigan University for their continued sponsorship which allows us to provide first class family entertainment with no cost to our community. If you have an opportunity to thank them, please do.  The Summer Concert Series would not be possible without their unwavering support.  See you at the shows!
