You’ll sit alone forever. If you wait for the right time. What are you hoping for? I’m here. I’m now. I’m ready.
If all I did for the world was be a part of People Helping People these past few months, I tried to be a part of changing the world. One sandwich at a time. We all have to look back at our life, wondering what difference did we make. Was there a moment where I was good? Was there a moment when I was bad? Was there a moment when I stood up. Or a moment when I sat down.
I still don’t enjoy talking about me and PHP. PHP is never about me. It’s not about Timmy. We are simply the caretakers. It’s a philosophy, an ideal, a belief that we together can make a difference. A value that another human going hungry should never be about money, it’s about right and wrong. It’s about not sitting down, it’s about standing up for someone you don’t know. It’s about a belief that together we are stronger than we are separate. So we have played our part, and we did it together.
In the past 77 days, we did all that we could to help out friends who’s names we didn’t know yet. Friends like John, Cathy, Jim and Mike, and hundreds more. They stop and say thank you to me, to Kat, to Brandy. No friends, thank you. We need you as you have needed us. Keep our hearts full with the belief that tomorrow the sun will come alive and shine down.
77 days of free meals. 77 days of thank yous to this amazing set of humans that work at Max and Emily’s. Kat, Brandy, Danny, Bryan, Christen, Jeff, Vince, Jayla, Heather, Zac, Izzy, Ali, and Trey. These are the humans that made a difference these past 77 days. These are the humans who work their tails off to make sure no one goes hungry. I am beyond joyful to be a tiny part of their life. They are my heroes.
We have fed 3,640 people who needed help these past 77 days. If I don’t do anything else in this life, I was able to be here for that.
Today’s quote comes again from my friend Jim. His words are terrorizing my mind in the best of ways.
Stay with me, you're the one I need
You make the hardest things seem easy
Keep my heart somewhere drugs don't go
Where the sun shines slow, always keep me close
